Terms Of Use

Last updated: 7 October 2026

The short version. LandHog is a game played in the real world. Stay safe, stay on public land, play fair, and be decent to other players. The land in LandHog is virtual and gives you no rights to any real place. LandHog is in beta, so things may change or break.

1. About These Terms

These terms are an agreement between you and LandHog Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (company number [COMPANY NUMBER]), registered office [REGISTERED OFFICE ADDRESS] ("LandHog", "we", "us"). By using the LandHog app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use LandHog. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

2. Who Can Play

You must be 13 or over to play. If you're under 18, please make sure a parent or carer is happy for you to play a game that uses your location.

3. Play Safely

LandHog is played by walking, jogging or running outdoors. You are responsible for your own safety and for following the law while you play.

4. Play Fair

Don't cheat or try to get an unfair advantage. That includes:

We may reject claims, remove land or points, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Our anti-cheat checks are automatic and can occasionally get it wrong. If you think we've made a mistake, email hello@playlandhog.com.

5. Hog Names And Behaviour

Choose a Hog name that isn't offensive, hateful, sexual, impersonating someone else, or using someone else's trade mark. Treat other players with respect, including on our Discord server. We may change names or remove accounts that break these rules.

6. Your Land Isn't Real Land

Land, points, badges, ranks and anything else in LandHog are part of the game. They have no money value, can't be sold or transferred, and give you no rights to, or over, any real place. Land can be stolen by other players, returns to the wild if it isn't hogged for three months, and points reset at the end of each season.

7. The Beta

LandHog is in beta. That means:

We'd love your feedback. By sending us ideas or feedback, you agree we can use them to improve LandHog without owing you anything.

8. Paid Features

There are no payments in the beta. If we add paid features (such as a Season Pass), they'll be sold through Apple's App Store or Google Play under their terms, and we'll update these terms first.

9. Our Content

The LandHog app, name, logo, characters, artwork and sounds belong to LandHog Ltd. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app for playing the game. Don't copy, change, sell or reverse-engineer it. Maps are provided by Mapbox and OpenStreetMap contributors.

10. Ending Your Account

You can delete your account at any time (see Delete Your Account). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, or if we need to stop running LandHog. Where reasonable, we'll tell you first.

11. Our Responsibility To You

We work hard to keep LandHog running well, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always be available, accurate or free of bugs. GPS can be inaccurate, so claims, areas and scores may not always be exact.

We're not responsible for loss or damage that wasn't foreseeable, that was caused by you not following these terms (including the safety rules above), or for anything that happens because of where you choose to go while playing. As LandHog is free during the beta, our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to £100.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law. Nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.

12. Changes To These Terms

We may update these terms as LandHog changes. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep playing after that, you accept the new terms.

13. The Law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
